Royalties:The writing of plays is a means of livelihood. We support theatre by supporting
the creator of theatre, the playwright. Royalties are due one week prior to
production and are due one week prior to production and are due on each performance,
whether or not admission is charged. Royalties can be included as a line item
on purchase orders.
If you order more than one copy of the same script title, you will be billed
and obligated to pay royalty fees unless you inform us that your selections
are for perusal only.
When two quotations are given thus: “$50 / $40” the first quotation
represents royalty for the first performance and the second quote for each
subsequent performance.
Amateur productions in a theatre or auditorium seating over 400 must contact
our office for special royalty quotations. Please include details about the planned
performance (seating capacity, price per ticket, etc.). Production rights for
any play listed in our online catalogue may, because of circumstances beyond
our control, be withdrawn at any time without prior notice. Plays with certain
restrictions are marked as such in their description.
Play Cuttings:
You must apply in writing and receive permission in writing to perform a
cutting of any title listed in our catalogue. There are a number of playwrights
who do not allow cuttings of their work, and others who allow cuttings only
when a full act of their play is performed with no interior revisions, deletions
of piecing allowed. You can mail or fax your written requests to the appropriate
representative.
